Steve Jobs publicly attacked Flash
Steve Jobs, Apple chief guru, definitely do not have Flash. And do not mince words to say. In an open letter published on the site of his company , he listed all the good reasons he had to deny access to Flash iPhone, and Apple iPad. Everything passes: a milieu he describes as “100% owner” (sic!), unreliable, inefficient, poorly secured, consuming too much energy and whose interface is not suited to screens Touch!
After dismissing the back of the pen that the multimedia environment of Adobe has become a de facto standard of web despite all those shortcomings, he comes to the essentials (for him) would recognize Flash to rein in Apple’s innovation capabilities.
” The goal Adobe is not to help developers write the best applications for iPhone, iPod and iPad, but to empower them to write applications multi-platform. “What may appear as an asset for developers and users becomes the eyes of Steve Jobs, a bullet unbearable.
The multi-platform Adobe is the opposite of hers. For Steve Jobs, Flash is constrained to “lowest bidder” technology, in hopes of being present everywhere. In contrast, Apple has managed to revolutionize markets and win the digital music player and mobile phone by creating revolutionary ergonomic equipment.
Steve Jobs took the opportunity to highlight the H.264 video standard and the merits of HTML 5 , which includes the video in its definitions and empty of substance the debate over Flash.
The fact that Apple wants to keep him for most of the fruits of his labor is another debate.
