Samsung Galaxy with Google Android OS – review

Announced a few weeks ago, the Galaxy, first Android smartphone by Samsung, is here. From Thursday 16 July, it will be available exclusively during 6 weeks in the operator Bouygues Telecom in France. For any subscription to a package Neo2 (from 34.90 euros per month with a commitment of two years), the device will be available from 99 euros (or more precisely 149 with an offer of reimbursement of 50 euros applies for summer).

Third smartphone with Android, the Galaxy is more in terms of format and design, the Magic of HTC as its predecessor, the Dream. Based on the latest version of the operating system, Cupcake 1.5, the device is, as the model SFR, no physical keyboard and is equipped with a large touch screen 8 inches diagonal. Then he joined a comfortable internal memory 8 GB (expandable to 32GB through the MicroSD port), a photo sensor to 5 megapixels, a standard headphone jack and a 3.5 mm screen AMOLED less a consumer model TFT and providing a better contrast and better color rendering. The Galaxy should, however, not to shoot VGA quality but in a limited resolution to 352 x 288 pixels.

Finally, the Galaxy Android keeps the standard interface that were discovered on the Dream and Magic. No overlay software house (type TouchWizz at the Korean manufacturer), or improved environment as with the HTC Sense Hero. Only a few icons (remove) services to point out that Bouygues Telecom is a new terminal! Samsung is expected to propose a second model Android by the end of the year, also based on a tactile interface unmodified. The builder put in a first time on ease of use offered by the operating system Google’s attempt to seduce the general public.
